The People's Assembly (Arabic: مَجْلِس الشَّعْب, ALA-LC: Majlis ash-Shaʻb, also called the People's Council) is the unicameral legislative body of Syria. Currently, under the Syrian transitional government, the assembly is composed of 210 members serving a renewable 30-month term; 119 of these members were elected in the 2025 Syrian parliamentary election through an electoral college, whilst the remaining 70 is to be chosen directly by the president of Syria.

As of February 2026, the remaining 16 seats excluding the 70 directly-chosen seats are left vacant due to the regions representing them, being Al-Hasakah, Sweida and Raqqa currently having their elections indefinitely postponed for the time being. Elections have also been delayed in Ayn al-Arab District, resulting in 2 more pending seats.

The postponements are due to these areas not being under the control of the Syrian transitional government, but instead administered by the Syrian Democratic Forces (SDF) within the Democratic Autonomous Administration of North and East Syria (DAANES), as well as the Supreme Legal Committee in Suwayda; however, since the SDF–Syrian transitional government clashes and the resulting government-led offensive against the SDF, plans to host elections in the former SDF-held territories are now ongoing.
