The Battle of Al-Anbar (633 CE), also known as the Battle of the Eyes (ذات العيون), was a decisive engagement between the forces of the Rashidun Caliphate under Khalid ibn al-Walid and the Sasanian Empire under Shirzad. The battle took place at the fortified city of Al-Anbar, approximately 80 miles west of Babylon. It played a pivotal role in the early Islamic conquest of Mesopotamia, showcasing Khalid's skill in siegecraft, tactical innovation, and psychological warfare.
