Presidential elections were held in Brazil on 3 October 1955 to elect both the president and vice president. Juscelino Kubitschek of the Social Democratic Party was elected president with 36% of the vote, while João Goulart of the Brazilian Labour Party was elected vice president with 44% of the vote. Voter turnout was 60% in both elections.
