William Bart Saxbe (/ˈsæksbiː/ SAKS-bee; June 24, 1916 – August 24, 2010) was an American diplomat and politician who served as the 70th United States attorney general from 1974 to 1975. A member of the Republican Party, he served as a U.S. senator for Ohio from 1969 to 1974 and later as the U.S. ambassador to India from 1975 to 1976.
