Villa Elisa (Spanish pronunciation: [ˈbiʎa eˈlisa]) is a city in the Central Department of Paraguay on the outskirts of Asunción. It was the only colony that was inhabited by Swedish people in Paraguay. It became part of the metropolitan area of the capital. It was founded on March 22, 1938.
