A student council (also known as a student union or associated student body) is a representative student leadership body commonly found in primary and secondary schools, and in some post-secondary institutions. Student councils are typically composed of elected student representatives and officers who serve to express student engagement, facilitate communication between students and school administration, and organize student-led activities and events.
