The Minister of Health and Population (Nepali: स्वास्थ्य तथा जनसंख्या मन्त्री) is the head of the Ministry of Health and Population. One of the senior-most officers in the Federal Cabinet, the minister is responsibility for overall policy formulation, planning, organisation and coordination of the health sector at national, province, district and community levels. The Minister is assisted by the Minister of State for Health and Population and the junior Deputy Minister of Health and Population.
Sudha Sharma Gautam is the current Minister of Health and Population, assuming office from 26 October 2025.
Previously, Prime Minister Sushila Karki, who assumed office on 12 September 2025 oversees multiple ministries including the Ministry of Health and population under the interim government.
