It is also the name of the main town of the district of Kebumen. The population of the town at the 2010 Census was 118,847, while the 2020 Census gave a total of 131,750; the official estimate as at mid 2024 was 135,374. Kebumen has other names – "Swallow City", "City of Tours", and "the city of culture".
