The Islamic Community of Serbia is the supreme body of Muslims on the territory of Serbia, organized into a Riyasat.
The Islamic Community developed following the withdrawal of Ottoman authority and the formation of the modern Serbian state, as Muslims began organizing their religious life within newly established legal and political frameworks. Islam was officially recognized in the Principality of Serbia in 1868, and the Islamic Community gradually evolved as an autonomous religious organization under state supervision. Its institutional continuity spans the late 19th and 20th centuries, with headquarters in Belgrade. The community is headed by the Grand Mufti, who serves as its highest religious authority.
