The Constituent and Parliamentary Assembly (Arabic: المجلس التأسيسي والنيابي), was the unicameral parliament of the Syria from 1961 until its dissolution after the Baath coup in 1963. One of its tasks was to adopt a new constitution following Syria's secession from the United Arab Republic in addition to being a national legislature. After the new constitution was adopted on September 13, 1962, the assembly became a pure legislateive Parliament.
