The Campaign against the Russian garrisons was the first major phase of the Left-bank uprising, aimed at destroying the Russian garrisons in the cities of Left-bank Ukraine. The Cossacks launched a series of coordinated sieges that led mostly to a fall of most of the Russian-held cities, excluding several cities that continued to fight until August–September of 1668.
