Argentine beef

Beef is a key component of traditional Argentine cuisine. Argentina has historically been a major beef producer and exporter. Argentina became a major exporter of beef, following innovations in transportation and refrigeration technologies in the 1880s. By the early 20th century, Argentina was the largest beef exporter in the world, accounting for more than half of global beef exports. In 2019, Argentina was the 4th largest producer of beef, with a production of 3 million tons (only behind the US, Brazil and China).
