Znamensky District (Russian: Зна́менский райо́н) is an administrative and municipal district (raion), one of the twenty-four in Oryol Oblast, Russia. It is located in the northwest of the oblast. The area of the district is 817.1 square kilometers (315.5 sq mi). Its administrative center is the rural locality (a selo) of Znamenskoye. Population: 5,016 (2010 Census); 6,458 (2002 census); 6,510 (1989 Soviet census). The population of Znamenskoye accounts for 33.9% of the district's total population.
