William V. Harris

William Vernon Harris FBA (born 13 September 1938) is a British-American classicist who was William R. Shepherd Professor of History at Columbia University until December 2017. He is the author of numerous groundbreaking monographs on the Greco-Roman world, is a Fellow of the American Academy of Arts & Sciences, and was awarded the Distinguished Achievement Award by the Andrew W. Mellon Foundation in 2008.
