Wardey is an Oromo clan who belong to the Bareytumma branch. They are mostly found along the Tana River, they're also found in some parts of Ethiopia. The Wardey are a pastoralist community. They mostly live in Tana River County alongside Orma community. They speak the Somali language because they were intracted and almost absorbed by Somalis especially Ogaden in Jubaland (Waamo).
