Waimea (literally, "red water" in Hawaiian) is a census-designated place (CDP) in Kauaʻi County, Hawaii, United States. It is on the southwest coast of the island of Kauaʻi and had a population of 2,057 at the 2020 census. The first Europeans to reach Hawaii landed in Waimea in 1778 (giving rise to Kauaʻi's slogan "Hawaii's Original Visitor Destination").
