The Best Screenplay Award is an annual award presented for best screenwriting achievements in a feature film in the official competition section of the Venice Film Festival. It was introduced in 1947 by the festival's organizing committee and was awarded irregularly over the years.

The prize was first awarded to Grigori Aleksandrov, Moris Slobodskoy, Aleksandr Raskin for Springtime in 1947.
