Venceremos ([ben.seɾˈe.mos], Spanish for "We shall win") was an American far-left and primarily Chicano political group active in the Palo Alto, California area from 1969 to 1973. In 1972 members of the group killed a federal prison guard while attempting to free an inmate from custody.
