Valery Yankovsky

Valery G. Yankovsky (May 15 (28), 1911 – April 17, 2010) was a Polish-origin Russian writer and a sharpshooter. Born in the Russian Far East, his family moved to what is now North Korea, where he spent many years in the Gulags. There he wrote many accounts of his family and life in the region.
