Tsuda Sanzō (津田 三蔵, Tsuda Sanzō; February 15, 1855 – September 30, 1891) was a Japanese policeman who in 1891 attempted to assassinate the Tsesarevich Nicholas Alexandrovich of Russia (later Emperor Nicholas II), in what became known as the Ōtsu incident. He was convicted for attempted murder and sentenced to life imprisonment. He died in prison shortly after his incarceration, either from pneumonia or self-induced starvation.
