Tikri Kalan is a Village & Census Town, previously a village in North West Delhi district in the Indian union territory of Delhi. It is located on the Delhi-Rohtak Road (National Highway 10).
There was a famous wrestler named Gulab Pehalwan from Tikri Kalan. He was among the eminent personalities of 1900's. Tales of his wisdom were spread far and wide, people often came to him for his help and advice. He was also renowned for his impartial dispute resolutions. This legacy was followed by his sons Chaudhary Har Lal, Chaudhary Bohat Ram and later their successors.
Khurd and Kalan are Persian words meaning small and large, respectively. They are used to distinguish Kalan (Big) villages from Khurd (Small) villages when the two are paired with the same name.
