Thomas Green Clemson (July 1, 1807 – April 6, 1888) was an American politician and statesman who served as Chargé d'Affaires to Belgium and United States Superintendent of Agriculture. He founded Clemson University in Clemson, South Carolina, served in the Confederate States army and was a prominent slave owner.
