The Prowler is a 1951 American thriller film noir directed by Joseph Losey, produced by Sam Spiegel, written by Dalton Trumbo and starring Van Heflin and Evelyn Keyes. Because Trumbo was an admitted communist, the screenplay was credited to his friend, screenwriter Hugo Butler, as a front.
