Tórshavn Municipality (Faroese: Tórshavnar kommuna; Danish: Thorshavn Kommune) is a municipality in the Danish territory of Faroe Islands. It encompasses the capital city of Tórshavn and its surrounding areas. It is the largest and most populous municipality in the Faroe Islands. It covers the southeastern coast of Streymoy island, and adjacent minor islands. The municipality serves as the political, economic, and cultural center of the archipelago. Its economy is largely driven by fishing, and maritime services.
