Szczawnica [ʂt͡ʂavˈɲit͡sa] is a resort town situated at the base of the Pieniny mountain range, within Nowy Targ County, Lesser Poland Voivodeship, in southern Poland. As of June 30, 2007, its population was 7,378.
A well-known resort town since the mid-19th century century, many respiratory and digestive tract illnesses are treated in Szczawnica due to the presence of alkali sorrel springs. The town also possesses skiing trails and slopes, the longest (2 km) at Mount Palenica, fitted with a ski lift.
