Super senior
A super-senior is a student in a four-year educational institution (such as a high school or undergraduate school) who has more than four years in attendance or a surplus of credits required for a diploma and has not yet graduated. In certain cases these students are also known as postgraduates or fifth-year seniors. The term is informal, and sometimes derogatory by implying students are intentionally prolonging their studies or are not serious about progressing in their studies. However, super seniors may also exist due to hardship, leaves of absence for illness or obligations, or demanding classes.
