The Stratford–Okahukura Line (SOL) is a 144 km (89 mi) secondary railway in New Zealand’s North Island, linking the Marton–New Plymouth line (MNPL) with the North Island Main Trunk (NIMT). Traversing steep and rugged terrain, the line features 24 tunnels, 91 bridges, and gradients as steep as 1 in 50 (2%). It once served 15 intermediate stations along its length.

Near Okahukura, the line crosses the Ongarue River via an unusual combined road-rail bridge, with a single-lane road deck situated beneath the railway track. Although the line is currently out of service, it is under a 30-year lease for a tourism-based venture. In July 2019, KiwiRail’s CEO named its reopening a priority, and in May 2021, Minister of Transport Michael Wood included the line in a 10-year government rail investment plan that outlined possible restoration.
