Stephen Christopher Pikiell (/ˈpaɪkəl/ PYKE-əl; born November 21, 1967) is an American college basketball coach, currently the Scarlet Knights men's basketball head basketball coach at Rutgers University. He was previously the head coach at Stony Brook University from 2005 to 2016, leading the Seawolves to their first NCAA tournament appearance in his final year. Pikiell was hired by Rutgers in 2016 and led the program to its first NCAA tournament appearance in 30 years in 2021.
