Starling Javier Marte (born October 9, 1988) is a Dominican professional baseball outfielder for the Kansas City Royals of Major League Baseball. He has previously played in MLB for the Pittsburgh Pirates, Arizona Diamondbacks, Miami Marlins, Oakland Athletics, and New York Mets. He made his MLB debut in 2012 with the Pirates. Marte is a two-time MLB All-Star and a two-time Gold Glove Award winner. In 2021, he led the major leagues with 47 stolen bases. He is the active leader in stolen bases and triples with 361 and 55, respectively.
