Sovetsky District (Russian: Сове́тский райо́н) is an administrative and municipal district (raion), one of the twenty-eight in Kursk Oblast, Russia. It is located in the west of the oblast. The area of the district is 1,150 square kilometers (440 sq mi). Its administrative center is the urban locality (a work settlement) of Kshensky. Population: 16,348 (2021 census); 19,080 (2010 census); 23,673 (2002 Census); 28,252 (1989 Soviet census). The population of Kshensky accounts for 34.2% of the district's total population.
