Sildi (Russian: Сильди; Avar: Силди) is a rural locality (a selo) in the Tsumadinsky District in the Republic of Dagestan, Russia. Population: 208 (2010 census); 263 (2002 census); Sildi is also located "approximately 1,932 meters above sea level". The village is amongst the Caucasus mountains in Russia. It is the hometown of retired, undefeated (29-0) former UFC Lightweight Champion Khabib Nurmagomedov, who is known as one of the greatest MMA fighters of all time as well as a member of the UFC Hall of Fame (Modern wing). It is also the hometown of Khabib's father, Abdulmanap Nurmagomedov, widely regarded as one of the greatest MMA coaches ever. It is only about 10 miles away from remote Georgian settlements like Diklo. The village was brought to fame by Khabib and in May 2025, Khabib opened a state-of-the-art training center in Sildi.
