Sharya (Russian: Шарья́) is a town in Kostroma Oblast, Russia, located on the left bank of the Vetluga River, 330 kilometers (210 mi) northeast of Kostroma, the administrative center of the oblast.
Population: 20,439 (2021 census); 23,681 (2010 census); 24,900 (2002 census); 27,062 (1989 Soviet census); 26,000 (1974).
