Scripto is an American brand currently owned by Calico Brands. The original manufacturing company was founded in Atlanta, Georgia, in 1923 by Monie A. Ferst. At one time the largest producer of writing instruments in the world, now Calico Brands markets butane lighters under the Scripto brand.
