Ruth Chepng'etich
Ruth Chepng'etich (born 8 August 1994 Kericho, Kenya) is a Kenyan long-distance runner. In the 2019 World Athletics Championships she won the gold medal in the marathon. She ran the marathon world record time 2.09:56 in the 2024 Chicago Marathon. Her half marathon record time is 1.04:02, which she ran in Istanbul in April 2021. Chepng'etich is currently suspended following a positive test for the banned substance hydrochlorothiazide, which she later admitted to using.
