Robert Laurence Nairac GC (31 August 1948 – 15 May 1977) was a British Army captain in the Grenadier Guards. During his fourth tour of duty in Northern Ireland, serving as a military intelligence liaison officer, he was abducted by republicans from a pub in South Armagh while on an undercover operation and subsequently killed by the Provisional Irish Republican Army (IRA). Several men were later convicted of offences related to Nairac's abduction and killing. His body has never been recovered. A number of sources have alleged that Nairac colluded with loyalist paramilitaries in murders and bombings.
