Rebbeca Marie Gomez (born March 2, 1997), known professionally as Becky G, is an American singer and actress. Gomez first gained recognition in 2011 for her cover versions of popular songs, which she uploaded to YouTube. One of her videos caught the attention of record producer Dr. Luke, who signed her to a recording contract with his label Kemosabe Records, an imprint of RCA Records. Throughout 2012, Gomez worked with singers will.i.am, Cody Simpson and Cher Lloyd. Her 2013 debut single, "Becky from the Block", preceded her debut extended play (EP), Play It Again (2013) – both releases failed to chart. Gomez achieved mainstream success with the release of "Shower" in 2014, which peaked within the top 20 of the Billboard Hot 100 and received double platinum certification by the Recording Industry Association of America (RIAA). Her 2016 single, "Sola", was her first full Spanish-language song and debut into the Latin market.
Gomez has released four studio albums. The first of these, Mala Santa (2019), reached the top five of the Hot Latin Songs with its singles "Mayores" and "Sin Pijama", while "Cuando Te Besé" became Gomez's first number-one single on the Argentina Hot 100. She followed it with Esquemas (2022), contained "Mamiii", her first number-one on the Hot Latin Songs. She also launched the Regional Mexican albums, Esquinas (2023) and Encuentros (2024), produced the Regional Mexican Airplay number-one singles "Por el Contrario" and "Mercedes". Gomez made her feature film debut in the superhero film Power Rangers (2017). She provided her voice in the animated fantasy film Gnome Alone (2017), and DC superhero film Blue Beetle (2023).
Gomez has received various accolades, including three American Music Awards, a Billboard Latin Music Award, nine Latin American Music Awards, five Lo Nuestro Awards, three People's Choice Awards, and seven Premios Juventud. She has appeared in listicles such as the Forbes 30 Under 30 (2023), Time 100 (2025), and received the Billboard's Impact Award (2023). Gomez launched a cosmetics company, Treslúce Beauty, in 2021. Outside of music and acting, Gomez advocates for immigrant rights, gender equality, mental health and the empowerment of the Latinx community.
