New Ramnagar is a town and a nagar parishad in Madhya Pradesh state in central India. It was located on the Son River in Maihar district, approximately 60 kilometers from the city of Satna.

The town was affected by the Bansagar project. The town was completely submerged underwater and its inhabitants have been relocated to a newly developed and planned town called New Ramnagar. The inhabitants of the submerged town were provided monetary compensation and strips of land in the new town. Also, people of nearby villages such as Semariya, Dadheech Tola began building new houses in the outskirts of submerged land.

Shiv Prasad Pandey and family;

This respected family has its home in front of Govt. high school Village Semariya, Post Harrai,Tehsil Ramnagar ,district maihar,MP.

1.Shiv Prasad Pandey, born on 7 April 1949 (Ramnavami) is the head of the family.

He is also referred to as Lambardar or Numberdar since he inherited a large area of land from his ancestors.However ,almost 90% of the inherited land got submerged in the floods.

He always has a helping hands towards the needy.So people also call him babuji,a father figure.

2.Advocate Santosh Kumar Pandey.

He is the son of Shiv Prasad Pandey and a former Sarpanch/headman of Gram Panchayat Dadheech Tola under Ramnagar Janpad Panchayat .

Post his tenure as Sarpanch, he has successfully established himself as a prominent lawyer in Ramnagar /Amarpatan region.

3.Abhishek Kumar Pandey.

He is son of Advocate Santosh Kumar Pandey.

He is currently a medical student, a social worker and an emerging politics enthusiast in this region.
