Patriots administering Hong Kong
"Patriots administering Hong Kong" (simplified Chinese: 爱国者治港; traditional Chinese: 愛國者治港) is the principle proposed by the Chinese Communist Party (CCP) that allows only those deemed to be "patriots" to the party and to the Chinese government to rule Hong Kong. Heavily emphasized after massive protests in 2019 and the introduction of the national security law in 2020, this principle effectively bars anyone the Chinese government sees as a dissident or critic, including the pro-democracy members, to run for public offices.
