Patrick Devedjian (26 August 1944 – 28 March 2020) was a French politician of the Union for a Popular Movement (UMP) party. A close adviser of Nicolas Sarkozy since the 1990s, he was Minister under the Prime Minister in charge of the Implementation of the Recovery Plan, a special ministerial post created for two years after the 2008 financial crisis, a tenure which commenced in December 2008. He was of Armenian descent. On 28 March 2020, he died of complications from COVID-19 during the COVID-19 pandemic.
