The Passenger Rail Agency of South Africa (PRASA) is a South African state-owned enterprise responsible for most passenger rail services in the country. It reports to the Department of Transport, headed by the Minister of Transport.
PRASA's primary mandate includes providing commuter rail services within metros, and long-distance (inter-city) rail and bus services within, to, and from South Africa’s borders.
