Otto Friedmann Kernberg (Austrian German: [ˈkɛrnbɛrg]; born 10 September 1928) is an Austrian-born American psychoanalyst and professor of psychiatry at Weill Cornell Medicine, known for developing transference-focused psychotherapy (TFP). He is recognized internationally for his contributions to the psychoanalytic theories on borderline personality organization and narcissistic pathology.
