The Olympia Brewing Company was a brewery which operated at the Olympia Brewery in Tumwater, Washington. It was founded in 1896 by Leopold Friederich Schmidt and bought by Pabst Brewing Company in 1983 and some assets such as Lone Star Beer and it's associated brewery in San Antonio TX were sold to the G. Heileman Brewing Company the same year. Through a series of consolidations due to the failure of the Stroh Brewing Company, the Tumwater Brewery was acquired by Miller Brewing Company in 1999. The Tumwater brewery was closed by in 2003 siting excess capacity in their system, and the higher cost of operating a small brewery.
