The New York, West Shore and Buffalo Railway was a railway company in the United States. It was established in 1880 to continue the development of a new trunk line between New York City and Buffalo, New York, via Albany, New York. This line, 423 miles (681 km) long, was completed in 1883. Although intended as a direct competitor to the New York Central and Hudson River Railroad, the latter company wound up taking control in 1885. That same year, the company was reorganized as the West Shore Railroad. Its main line became the West Shore Railroad main line.
