John David Logan (born September 24, 1961) is an American playwright, screenwriter, and producer. He is known for his work as a screenwriter for films such as Ridley Scott's Gladiator (2000), Edward Zwick's The Last Samurai (2003), Tim Burton's Sweeney Todd: The Demon Barber of Fleet Street (2007) and Martin Scorsese's The Aviator (2004) and Hugo (2011); as well as Sam Mendes' films Skyfall (2012) and Spectre (2015) of the James Bond series. He has been nominated for three Academy Awards, three British Academy Film Awards and has won a Tony Award.
