Neuroder Revier

The Neuroder Revier was a historic hard coal mining district centred on Neurode (today Nowa Ruda, Poland) in Lower Silesia. It formed the south-eastern part of the former Lower Silesian Coal Basin and belonged to the wider Waldenburg–Neurode mining region. Coal mining in the district is documented from 1434, making the Nowa Ruda area one of the oldest documented hard coal mining centres in present-day Poland. Mining continued, with interruptions, mergers and administrative changes, until 2000, when mining operations in the last active field, Słupiec, came to an end.
