The Kharkiv Polytechnic Institute (abbr. KhPI, officially titled National Technical University "Kharkiv Polytechnic Institute", Ukrainian: Національний технічний університет «Харківський політехнічний інститут», abbr. НТУ "ХПІ") is a public technical university in Kharkiv, Ukraine.
Founded in 1885, it is the second-oldest technical university in the former Russian Empire (after Saint Petersburg State Institute of Technology). Also it is the second-oldest technical university in the modern Ukraine territory (after Lviv Polytechnic).
