Names of the Korean alphabet

The Korean alphabet has been referred to by various names over time and even currently. It is known as Chosŏn'gŭl in North Korea, Hangul internationally, and Hangeul in South Korea. The script's original name was Hunminjeongeum. It also used a number of other historical names.
