Moutier (French pronunciation: [mutje]; Arpitan: Motiér) is a municipality in Switzerland. Until 31 December 2025, the town belonged to the Jura bernois administrative district of the canton of Bern. On 28 March 2021, the population voted to secede and join the Canton of Jura. The decision entailed a lengthy process of transfer of competences between cantonal authorities.
The change to the canton of Jura took effect on 1 January 2026.
Until then, Moutier was the largest town in Bernese Jura.
