Mohibul Hassan Chowdhury, commonly known as Nowfel Chowdhury, (born July 26, 1983) is a politician affiliated with Bangladesh Awami League and a former Member of the Jatiya Sangsad from the constituency of Chittagong-9. He served as a Deputy Minister and later as the Minister of Education in the Fourth and Fifth Hasina Cabinets, respectively.Following the fall of Sheikh Hasina on 5 August 2024 he left Bangladesh and has since been living in exile in India.He is the eldest son of A.B.M. Mohiuddin Chowdhury, the former mayor of the Chattogram City Corporation. Chowdhury has been accused by the Interim government of Bangladesh of being one of the alleged main perpetrators of the July massacre committed during the 2024 Student-People's uprising, for which the International Crimes Tribunal, Bangladesh has issued an arrest warrant against him.
