Schumacher (May 22, 1950 – December 29, 2025) was an American author and journalist who wrote biographies of Beat Generation poet Allen Ginsberg, filmmaker Francis Ford Coppola, musicians Eric Clapton and Phil Ochs, comics legends Al Capp and Will Eisner, and a series of books on Great Lakes shipwrecks.
